MAC foundation, what shade? any good?

What is your skin type like first of all ? I have heard many people find their foundation drying.. so really it depends on your skin, what I would suggest is to try out their tinted moisturizer first. I have it and it works really well and is very light and gives a good light coverage and gives a natural look. I also suggest you look at online reviews for the foundation and that might help you get a better indication!
