Should I be able to see the bar on my dermal anchor?

I just had it pierced the other day. A single dermal anchor on the sternum/cleavage. I can see a bit of the bar that the gem screws into, is this okay? I see no signs of the foot coming out, but once the swelling went down I could see the metal. It's a very tine gem, not the larger ones, so maybe it's just more noticeable that way?
