New micro dermal piercing and swimming, will a band aid work?

Im thinking about getting a dermal sternum piercing next week, but 2 weeks (maybe 1 but most likely not) after wards ill be going swimming in a lake, would it be ok if i got one of the water proof band aids and put over it and once i got out clean it?
