The surgury for such procedure is not very dangerous, is proven highly effective, and is a very common surgury/phsical condition to have. No worries, dear, your boyfriend will be fine. I have no idea on how much the procedure will cost but it probably shouldn't be much more than a regular surgury. (: Hope that helps.
