Micro dermals during pregnancy?

I am 3 months pregnant and I have a micro dermal on my sternum. After my latest doctors visit I am now worried about how this might affect me if I have to have a c-section. My doctor said she had never seen a micro dermal before and that some doctors wont do any type of surgery unless the patient has removed all jewelry from the body. My question is: has anyone with a micro dermal ever had surgery and if so what did you do?
