What specialist to I go to for Rib/Sternum/Back pain?

I have, for the life of me, tried to find the answer. My family practioner said that I needed to see an osteopathic/manipulative therapy doctor. I tried and there was a several month wait, so I started to see I chiropractor (who is, from my research like an ostepathic w/o a MD). I noticed no difference in chiropractic adjustments, so I find it hard to spend more time and money to see an osteopathic to get manipulated even more. I feel like these manipulations dont even target the problem. I called an orthopedic (several of them), and they said they do not touch the rib areas. I was thinking about a rheumatologist, but I dont know if that is even applicable. ARGH. Frustrating. Anyone know?
