When my sternum hurts if its bad enough it pops and i hate it what is wrong with me?

i have seen the doc and he said it was inflammation and gave me pills and i took them the right way and didnt even drink with the pills and its coming back the the same amount of pain again... its been going on a total of 3 months and i wana know what it is now ..grr!
